SPORTIME Schenectady
Located in the heart of NY’s Capital Region, this SPORTIME club, which recently underwent a $5+ million, top to bottom, renovation, features six indoor hard-surface tennis courts, eight outdoor Har-Tru , soft-surface, tennis courts, five dedicated, indoor, pickleball courts, our “Eager Explorers” preschool/daycare center, a fully-equipped fitness center offering the latest in cardio, strength training and functional equipment, and a great indoor/outdoor summer multi-sport camp facility, including an outdoor pool. SPORTIME Schenectady also offers a well-stocked pro shop, modern locker rooms, and multiple lobby and lounge spaces that make it easy to relax after play and to spectate and socialize in comfort.
Open 365 days a year, the club offers SPORTIME’s proprietary group instructional and competitive tennis and pickleball programs, as well as summer and school-break tennis and pickleball camps, for juniors and adults of all ages and levels, provided by our world-class team of directors and coaches. Our fully-equipped fitness center provides members a supportive environment in which to achieve their fitness goals, whether on their own, by participating in group exercise classes, or with the assistance of our team of certified personal trainers.
Our Preschool/Daycare, licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), serves children ages 3 to 5, with a focus on age-appropriate play, learning, development and FUN. Our small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios allow individual needs to be met within the classroom setting. Our Eager Explorers curriculum is age-based and comprehensive, with the goal that all students love coming to “school” and are ready for their next steps as members of future learning communities.
Our summer tennis camp and our multi-sport summer day camp offer hundreds of campers, preschool through 10th grade, an active, fun-filled experience that they will treasure for the rest of their lives. Our program is supervised by experienced, qualified, coaches and counselors, with the safest, most attractive facilities in the Capital Region.
Non-members can participate in certain activities at SPORTIME Schenectady, including camps, daycare, some introductory programs, and court-time rental at non-discounted rates. Adult EXCEL Tennis
The program focuses on the fundamental aspects of tennis, covering essential elements such as footwork, concentration, consistency, ball control, strategy, and tactics. By honing these "nuts and bolts" of the game, participants can enhance their overall performance on the court.
Ages: Adults
Red Ball One
The first stage of the SPORTIME U10 Pathway is designed for young players just starting to play the game. Using the appropriate-sized Red Court (36’) and ball (low compression red) U10 Red One players learn to serve, rally and score on the Red Court over the lower net. Red One students focus on tracking the ball, moving into effective hitting positions and directing the ball using basic stroke shapes. Actually playing the game from the start increases our youngest students’ motivation to learn and to commit to acquiring new skills.
Ages: 5 - 7
Red Ball Two
RED Two players continue on the Red Court, refining strokes, working on more advanced tracking skills and learning to send the ball to specific areas in order to start building a tactical understanding of court geography. Red Two players will also begin linking shots together and developing more advanced technical skills, including learning how to deal with spin and speed. Developing players that love to play and compete is our mission, so Red Two players continue to compete in SPORTIME World Tour events.
Ages: 6 - 8
Orange Ball One
Orange One players transition to the larger Orange Court (60’) and the full-sized net, using both red balls and orange balls that move faster and bounce higher, making tracking and movement more challenging. Tactical sophistication increases, as players learn to link shots into patterns and to develop an understanding of choices from different positions on the court, including how to move an opponent. Technique continues to evolve, with increased swing lengths and added spin needed to meet the demands of the court and to match growing physical capabilities. Orange One players continue to compete in SPORTIME World Tour events.

Orange Ball Two
In the Orange Two stage of tennis development for players aged 7-10, there is a continued emphasis on mastering patterns and understanding one's own strengths and weaknesses. Every shot is now executed with the intention of challenging the opponent and gaining an advantage in the game.

EXCEL Green Ball
EXCEL Green players transition from the Orange Court, and/or have the necessary strength, stature and skill to handle the full-sized 78’ court, playing mostly with the USTA and ITF regulation green ball, and are challenged to adapt to the larger court space and to the faster and higher bouncing ball.
Ages: 9-13
EXCEL Yellow Ball
EXCEL Yellow is SPORTIME's program designed for students who are dedicated to reaching their full potential as tennis players. This stage of development emphasizes the importance of technical, tactical, emotional, and physical skills in shaping a skilled and confident player.
Ages: 9-17
Pickleball Open Play
Pickleball Open Play sessions offer a flexible and relaxed setting for players to enjoy the game at their levels. Play can be intense, but the social and welcoming vibe encourages friendship and fun. Open Play allows regular practice and competition on your schedule at a variety of locations, and welcomes players to SPORTIME Pickleball Nation.

Advanced Beginner-Intermediate Clinics
Advanced Beginner and Intermediate pickleball clinics are designed for players who have already acquired the basic skills required to play the game and are looking to further develop those skills to level up and become more involved in pickleball. These clinics cater to players who have progressed beyond the beginner stage and are ready for more advanced techniques and strategies.

Beginner Clinic Series
Beginner clinics are designed specifically for individuals who are new to pickleball and want to learn the basics of the sport. These clinics provide a structured and supportive environment where beginners can learn and practice foundational skills and gain confidence on the court.

Private Group Pickleball Lessons
For players who want to curate their own learning experience, a private group allows you to put together your own group of friends and playing partners and work with a coach of your choosing. Enjoy highly personalized attention from our skilled coaches, focusing on fundamentals, court positioning and strategy.

Pickleball Leagues
Discover the excitement of SPORTIME’s competitive leagues! Compete weekly against players of similar levels in men’s, women’s and/or mixed doubles formats. League play is supervised by our professional league coordinators who collect and post weekly standings, and who ensure that all players are having a great time. Seasonal Pickleball Court Time
Players who want to assure the most consistent playing schedule possible are encouraged to reserve a seasonal court for the duration of the indoor pickleball season. This ensures that you and your partners and friends have your preferred court reserved on the same day and time each week. Secure your seasonal court and enjoy uninterrupted tennis throughout the indoor season.

Cardio Pickleball
SPORTIME's Cardio Pickleball program allows players to combine their love for the sport with a challenging and effective workout. Pickleball Parties
SPORTIME's Pickleball parties embrace a variety of fun, seasonal, themes to create pickleball celebrations. Private Pickleball Lessons
Private lessons offer one-on-one instruction with a SPORTIME Pickleball coach. This most personalized approach allows the instructor to focus specifically on your needs, skill level, and areas for improvement. Private lessons are ideal for individuals who prefer individualized attention and who want to progress at their own pace or who want to acquire basic skills as quickly as possible before attempting group play.

Specialty Clinics
Participating in pickleball specialty clinics allow more highly skilled players to fine-tune specific aspects of their games and to gain a deeper understanding of the sport. These are excellent opportunities to learn from high level coaches, expand your skills, and take your pickleball game to the next level.

Multi-Sport Summer Camp
SPORTIME's Summer Camp offers a diverse range of sports and activities for campers aged 9 and up. The multi-sport curriculum provides instruction, recreation, and friendly competition, allowing campers to engage in both indoor and outdoor activities.
