PICKLEBALL OPEN-PLAY GUIDELINES

Pickleball Open-Play Guidelines

  • Courts are not assigned, so, for the first round of play, please fill in empty court spaces starting with Pickleball Court #1
  • Players who are waiting for courts must put their Paddles in the Racket Box.
  • Games are first to 11 points.
  • Play should continue until a team has scored 11 or more points by a 2 point or greater margin of victory, or until a team has scored 13 points, with the final score then being 13-12.
  • When a game is won, the players on the winning team stay on the same court and play another game - those winning partners split and play against each other with new partners from the Racket Box. The losing players place their paddles in the Racket Box and take a break.
  • The next players waiting to play (the first two paddles in the Racket Box ) replace the losing team, each one playing with one of the winning players.
  • Regardless of which team wins the next game, the players that have played two consecutive games leave the court and stack their paddles in the Racket Box. The two remaining players become a team and play their second game, after which they will leave the court even if they win.
  • Any time that any player has played 2 games in a row, he/she/they must vacate the court and place her/his/their paddle in the Racket Box.
  • Players who are waiting to play, fill the next available spots on the next available court across the entire court-grouping. No player plays on onespecific court or with one specific team-mate.
  • Everybody works together to provide a good experience for all!
